Terms of use
1. Who operates Frostsim
These terms govern your use of the Frostsim website at sim.frostdev.io, its accounts, its paid Frostsim Cloud plans and its Discord bot (together, the “service”). The service is operated by PMA Electrical Solutions, LLC, based in New Jersey, United States (“we”, “us”). Payments may appear on your statement as FROSTSIM. Contact: [email protected]. Software licenses are addressed separately in section 12.
2. Using the service
By using the service after having an opportunity to read these terms, you agree to them to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to agree to these terms, or have permission and supervision from a parent or guardian where required. Frostsim is not directed to children under 13. You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to buy a paid plan.
Frostsim is an independent World of Warcraft simulation tool built on SimulationCraft. You are responsible for the inputs and settings you choose, your device and internet connection, and any files or links you export or share.
3. The free app
Frostsim is free to use without an account. Free simulations run on your own device, in your browser. They may use substantial CPU, memory, battery and download bandwidth, and closing a tab, browser restrictions or interruptions may end a run. Browser storage is not a backup: export important characters and reports.
4. Accounts
An account is optional. You sign in with Discord or, where offered, Battle.net; we never see your password for either. One account is for one person. You are responsible for activity under your account, and you should sign out on shared devices. You can link a second sign-in method, export your account data and delete your account at any time from the account settings.
While a feature is in preview, we may limit sign-in or paid plans to invited users.
5. Frostsim Cloud plans
What you buy. A Frostsim Cloud plan gives you a monthly allowance of cloud compute, measured in core-hours, on our servers, together with the other features listed for the plan on the plans page (such as character slots, gear and DPS history, patch re-sims, report links and, on Avalanche, hybrid runs). Compute is metered by the processor time your runs use. The number of “sims” we show is an estimate based on a typical Quick Sim; heavier fights, higher precision, more candidates and more characters use more of your allowance. The allowance resets each month from the start of your billing period, including on 6-month and yearly terms, and unused allowance does not carry over. “Unlimited” character slots are subject to a fair-use limit of 100.
Availability. We aim to run your cloud runs promptly but do not guarantee server capacity, queue times or speed. When the cloud cannot take a run (for example, your allowance is used up, capacity is unavailable or the run fails), Frostsim runs it on your device instead and says so. Some run types, such as custom scripts, always run on your device. A run cancelled while waiting in the queue uses no allowance; a run cancelled or failing after it started is metered for the time it ran.
Price and payment. Prices are in US dollars and shown on the plans page and at checkout, which shows the exact amount, including any tax. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card details.
Automatic renewal. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each term (monthly, 6 months or yearly, as you chose) and is charged to your payment method at the then-current price until you cancel. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of a price increase before it applies to your plan, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in Manage billing in your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for: the plan stays active until then and does not renew. If you change plans, Stripe credits or charges the difference for the rest of the period, as shown before you confirm.
Refunds. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable and we do not refund partial periods. If the service did not work for you, contact us: we will consider a refund in good faith, particularly where the cloud service was unavailable for a significant part of a period. Nothing in this section limits refund or cancellation rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Failed payments and downgrades. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it; the plan stops granting cloud compute a few days after the paid period ends if payment is not made. After a downgrade or cancellation, characters above your new slot limit stay available to download, replace or delete, and your report links expire 30 days after you lose them unless you subscribe again.
6. Discord servers (Guild Cloud)
A member with the Manage Server permission can subscribe a Discord server to a Guild Cloud plan. The person who pays for it (the “payer”) is responsible for it and for the settings they choose. The plan gives the server one shared monthly pool that members use through the Frostsim bot's /sim command. The payer can set how much of the pool each Discord role may use each month; a member whose roles allow no pool, or whose share is used up, runs on their own plan if they have one. To use /sim, a member links their Discord account to a Frostsim account. Removing the bot from a server does not cancel the plan; cancel it in Manage billing. The payer must have the right to add the bot to the server and should tell members that their /sim use is metered against the pool.
7. Integrations
You can allow the Loothing Discord bot to sim your saved characters on your plan. It can then start and read cloud runs of your saved characters, which use your allowance. You can withdraw that permission at any time in your account settings.
8. Acceptable use
Use the service lawfully. Do not interfere with its operation, overload its endpoints, bypass access restrictions, usage metering or allowances, introduce malicious material, or use it to infringe another person's rights. Do not use cloud compute for anything other than World of Warcraft simulations through the service, and do not resell or share access to your plan outside the features we provide. Only provide or share data you are entitled to use. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, protect the service or comply with law.
9. Your content and sharing
You retain any rights you have in your inputs and outputs. You give us permission to store, process and display them only as needed to provide the service to you, for example to save your characters, run your cloud sims and host your report links. We do not use your character data for advertising or AI training.
Exported files, share links and hosted report links may contain character names, equipment, talents, simulation settings and results. Anyone with a link can read it and redistribute its contents. You can delete a hosted report link from your account, but Frostsim cannot recall copies others made or revoke information encoded in a link that holds the data itself.
10. Suspension and ending
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account cancels your subscriptions immediately, without a refund of the current period except where law requires one; cancel in Manage billing first if you want to use the rest of a period. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where required by law. If we close an account for reasons other than a breach, or discontinue paid plans, we will refund the unused part of the current period.
11. Estimates
Results are estimates produced by a model, not guarantees of in-game performance or advice to spend money. Game changes, incomplete catalogs, engine limitations, random sampling and your selected assumptions can affect results. Check the engine version, warnings and uncertainty before relying on an output.
12. Third parties and software licenses
Frostsim is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment, SimulationCraft, Raidbots, Raider.IO, Discord or Loothing. World of Warcraft and related names and assets belong to their respective owners. Paid plans pay for cloud compute and account features, not for game data. Third-party sites, payment and data providers have their own terms and privacy practices.
Frostsim, its cloud service and the included SimulationCraft software are made available under their applicable open-source licenses, including GPL-3.0. These terms do not restrict rights granted by those licenses, including rights to use, study, modify and redistribute covered software. Source and license information are provided with the project and engine releases. Other assets remain subject to their applicable rights and licenses.
13. Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation or preservation of data. To that same extent, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or loss of data arising from use of the service, and our total responsibility for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or intentional misconduct, or removes mandatory consumer protections or remedies. Applicable law determines any responsibility that cannot be disclaimed.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
15. Changes and contact
We may update the service or these terms. Material changes will be identified through an updated notice or date on the website and apply prospectively. We will give subscribers at least 30 days' notice of a material change to paid plans, and you can cancel before it takes effect. Where law requires additional notice or agreement, we will obtain it.
